Getting started and platform guide

This guide takes you from zero to your first day of use: creating the account, connecting your exchange, setting up the analysis and understanding the dashboard. By the end you will know what the platform does, what you decide and where to ask for help. There are four steps and you can take them at your own pace, with your personal manager beside you if you prefer.

Before you start

Having three things at hand makes the whole process flow.

First, an account on a crypto exchange in your own name, with the exchange's own identity verification completed. The platform does not open exchange accounts for you or move your money between them: it works with the account you already have.

Second, a phone with an authenticator app. Third, a clear idea of how much you are willing to lose. If you do not have that yet, that is fine: your manager helps you define it on the first call.

  • An exchange accountVerified, with available balance to trade.
  • An authenticator appFor the second security step on the platform and at the exchange.
  • A defined amountMoney you can lose without affecting your basic expenses.

Step 1: Register your account

Creating the account takes a few minutes and costs nothing.

Fill in the form with your first name, last name, email and mobile number. You will then receive a call from your personal manager, who guides you through the password, identity verification and activating the platform.

Use a long, unique password and switch on the second step with an authenticator app. Store the backup codes somewhere other than your phone.

Security recommendations

  • A unique password of at least 12 characters.
  • Second step (2FA) on before you deposit.
  • Your own email, with its own second step.
  • Backup codes stored away from your phone.

Step 2: Connect your exchange

The platform trades on your exchange through an API key that you create.

At your exchange, go to the API keys section and create a new one with the name you prefer. Switch on the read and trade permissions. Then paste the key and the secret into the platform dashboard; the secret is shown only once, so copy it at that moment.

If you use more than one exchange, create a separate key for each and name them so you can recognise them, for instance with the date and the use. That way, if you need to revoke one, you do not affect the others. When the exchange allows it, restrict the key to the IP addresses your manager gives you. If you ever want to stop using the platform, deleting the key at your exchange is enough.

API key limits

  • Read: lets the platform see balances and history.
  • Trade: lets the platform send orders.
  • Withdraw: always leave it switched off. We do not need it and do not accept it.

If anyone asks you for a key with withdrawal permission, it is a sign of fraud.

Step 3: Set up analysis and monitoring

Here you decide what the platform watches and what it tells you about.

Choose the trading pairs you want to follow, for example Bitcoin or Ethereum against the dollar, and set the conditions of each strategy: amount per trade, loss limit and schedules. If in doubt, start with one of the ready-made strategies, which come with prudent values.

A practical tip is to begin with one strategy and watch how it behaves for several days before adding others. That way you know what to look at and which one produced each result. Also set up notifications. You can receive emails when a strategy switches on or pauses, when the market moves more than usual or when a limit you set is reached.

  1. a

    Pairs and assets

Select only a few at first to understand each one.

  2. b

    Risk limits

Define the maximum loss and the amount per trade.

  3. c

    Alerts

Turn on the notices you will really read.

4

Step 4: Review and manage

The dashboard brings everything together on a single screen.

On the main dashboard you see the state of your strategies, your available balance, the activity summary and recent alerts. From there you can pause a strategy, change its parameters or review a downloadable report of what happened each day.

We suggest spending a few minutes daily at the beginning and, once you feel comfortable, a weekly review. The automation works on its own, but you are the one who decides the limits.

Summary

Balance, active strategies and the result of the period, with the date of each figure.

Settings

Parameters of each strategy, API permissions and alerts.

Reports

A downloadable activity history for your own records.

Your first week, without rushing

A reasonable pace so you do not feel overwhelmed. Adjust it to your time.

  1. 1

    Day 1: account and security

Registration, call with your manager, password and second step switched on. There is no need to deposit yet.

  2. 2

Days 2 and 3: verification and simulator

You upload your documents and practise on the simulator to see how strategies behave without risking money.

  3. 3

    Day 4: connect the exchange

You create the API key with read and trade permissions and connect it. You check with your manager that the balance looks right.

  4. 4

Days 5 to 7: first strategy

You switch on a prudent strategy with the minimum amount, set up alerts and check the dashboard once a day.

Common mistakes of people starting out

  • Depositing an amount that is later needed for monthly expenses.
  • Creating an API key with withdrawal permission "just in case".
  • Switching on many strategies at once and not understanding what each one does.
  • Changing the parameters after every price move, out of anxiety.
  • Sharing second-step codes with someone who says they are from support.

Important notes

No setup guarantees profit. The crypto-asset market is volatile and you can lose part or all of the capital you invest. Investment decisions are yours, and it is your responsibility to understand the strategies you switch on. Start with amounts you can afford to lose and, while you learn, use the simulator your manager will show you.
