Privacy policy

We explain what personal data SQM Financerra collects, what we use it for, who it is shared with, how long we keep it and how you can exercise your rights. It applies to this website and the services connected with it.

1. Definitions

Personal data: information that identifies you, such as your name, email, phone number or ID number. Usage data: technical information generated when you browse, such as the IP address, the type of device or the pages visited. Cookies: small files that the browser stores to remember preferences or to measure use of the site.

Controller: SQM Financerra, with an office in Santiago, Chile, which decides why and how your data are processed. Processors: providers that process data on our behalf, under instructions and with a duty of confidentiality.

2. Collection and use of information

We collect the data you give us: first name, last name, phone number, email and the content of your enquiries. If you go on to open an account, we also collect the data and documents needed to verify your identity, described in the KYC / AML policy.

We use this data to answer your requests, to contact you by phone or email after you register, to provide the service, to meet legal obligations, to improve the platform and to keep it secure. If you authorise it, we also use it to send you news. You can withdraw that authorisation at any time.

3. Legal bases for processing

We process your data because it is necessary to perform the contract or deal with your request, because a law requires it (for example, the prevention of money laundering), because there is a legitimate interest, such as security and fraud prevention, or because you gave consent, for example for marketing communications.

The applicable framework is Law No. 19,628 on the protection of private life and, from its entry into force on 1 December 2026, Law No. 21,719, which replaces it and strengthens the rights of data subjects.

4. Data retention

We keep your data only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Contact details from an enquiry that did not lead to an account are kept for a maximum of 24 months. Account data and the records required by anti-money-laundering rules are kept for the legal period after closure. After that, we delete or anonymise them.

5. Transfer and disclosure of data

We may share data with affiliated group companies, with technology and identity-verification providers, with the third parties that provide trading services or exchange connectivity and with the authorities when the law or a valid order requires it. When a provider is outside Chile, we require equivalent contractual safeguards for protection.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. Information security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures: encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, audit logs and staff training. No system is completely invulnerable. If a breach affecting you occurred, we would tell you as the law requires. The detail of the measures is on the security page.

7. Rights of data subjects

You can ask for access to your data, correct it if it is inaccurate, request its deletion, restrict its processing, object to certain uses and ask for portability where it applies. You can also withdraw your consent, without retroactive effect.

To exercise these rights, write to [email protected]. We will reply within the legal period. If you think we have not answered properly, you can turn to the competent data protection authority.

8. Service providers

We work with providers of hosting, email, communications, identity verification and security analysis. They receive only the data necessary for their function and are forbidden from using them for other purposes.

9. Analytics and cookies

We use technical cookies, which are necessary for the site to work, and, when enabled, analytics cookies that help us understand how the site is used, for example which pages are visited most. You can block or delete them in your browser settings, although some features may stop working.

10. Advertising and retargeting

This site does not include advertising or cross-site tracking tools by default. If they are switched on in the future, we will say so here and give you the option to accept or refuse them.

11. Links to third-party sites

Our site may link to the pages of other companies, such as exchanges or public bodies. We do not control their content or their privacy practices, so we recommend reading their policies before giving them any data.

12. Children's privacy

Our services are only for people over 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we find that we did, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has given us data, let us know.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal or service changes. We will publish the current version on this page, with its update date, and tell you about important changes by email or on the site.
